What is VOLBELLA®?
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® is an injectable filler based on Hyaluronic Acid that provides a desirable improvement in the lip contour, boosting volume, smoothing vertical creases and achieving symmetry.
Hyaluronic Acid is a substance made naturally by the body, though production slows as you age. This moisturizing sugar gives your face and lips a youthful, plump appearance.
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® lasts up to a year, but its longevity can be affected by your age, diet and skin care habits.
Who is a candidate for VOLBELLA®?
If you have slight or moderate wrinkles and lines around your lips and nose, you can be a candidate for JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA®. Some people are born with thin lips, while others see their lips thin out as they age, and a person’s lips can also become asymmetrical. JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® helps with all of these lip concerns.
What should I expect before Volbella treatment?
Your provider at Dermacare will have an in-depth consultation with you to understand your needs and what facial features you would like to enhance. They will explain all the options to make sure that your Volbella treatment satisfies your expectations. If you’re not a candidate for the injectable we might suggest something else.
What can you expect from your VOLBELLA® treatment?
There is virtually no swelling or bruising from a JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® treatment, so normal daily activities can be resumed immediately after the treatment. Applying ice to the area will lessen the redness and swelling.
You’ll notice an immediate difference as the gel makes your lips look smoother. JUVÉDERM®VOLBELLA® works by attracting some of your body’s natural moisture to the injection site, which can cause swelling. This is a side effect you should expect to occur. Final results will be fully noticeable after about one week.
What should I do after Volbella treatment?
When you finish your injectable, we’ll advise you on your aftercare. You may be advised to stop wearing makeup for up to 12 hours. You may also be told to avoid the sun, as well as saunas and steam rooms, for a couple weeks. Some people experience a little temporary tenderness, swelling or bruising around the injection sites. It is also recommended that you avoid additional treatments in the treated area for the next seven days. Many find that putting ice packs on the area or Arnica can help with bruising. Dermacare Tip: To enhance your skin’s health (with Volbella or anything else, for that matter), always drink lots of water, get enough sleep, and use moisturizer and sunblock every day.
How long does VOLBELLA® last?
Clinical trials have shown that the JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® is proven to soften and fill lines in a majority of patients through one year.
Can VOLBELLA® be combined with other treatments?
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® treatments can be combined with some laser procedures that stimulate collagen and improve the final rejuvenation of the mouth area.
