What to Expect During Surgery
Eyelid Surgery is performed under local anesthesia for the upper eyes and with an anesthesiologist for the lower eyes, on an outpatient basis, which means patients can return home to heal. During eyelid surgery, incision lines will be skillfully created to be concealed within the natural structure of the eyelid area.
To address aging in the upper eyelid, an incision will be created within the natural eyelid crease. This allows Dr. Rod to reposition or remove fat deposits, tighten muscles, and remove excess skin. To address aging in the lower eyelid, an incision will be created just below the lower lash line or inside the lower eyelid (transconjunctival incision). Eyelid incisions will be closed with sutures.
