What is Exion™ Microneedling?
EXION is a multi-treatment device that can target various aesthetic concerns. It offers cutting-edge solutions for multiple concerns, such as skin laxity, lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone, stretch marks, sun damage, acne scars, stubborn pockets of fat, feminine concerns, and more.
The EXION device is equipped with multiple different applicators to address various concerns. These applicators include the following:
EXION Fractional RF Microneedling
EXION Fractional RF Microneedling uses monopolar radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the deep tissues, increasing blood circulation and stimulating fibroblasts deep within the dermis. This produces collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid for more evenly toned and textured skin.
EXION Face
As we age, hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin levels decline. This can impact the quality of our skin, resulting in volume loss, wrinkles, and skin dehydration.
EXION Face uses a combination of RF and targeted ultrasound technology to improve skin texture and combat the appearance of wrinkles. The targeted ultrasound energy heats the deep layers of the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elasticity. Additionally, RF energy ensures even heating across the entire dermis. These two technologies combined boost the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin for improved skin elasticity and appearance.
EXION Body
EXION Body is a versatile body solution that addresses skin laxity and localized fat deposits. It can be used on various areas of the body, including the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen.
EXION Body for skin rejuvenation employs combined RF energy and ultrasound to boost the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin, improving the appearance of cellulite and overall skin laxity for a skin-tightening effect.
EXION Body for fat loss employs combined RF energy and targeted ultrasound to target and eliminate stubborn fat cells. The RF energy heats the fatty tissue, causing the fat cells to break down and be eliminated by the body. Ultrasound also helps to disrupt fat cells, making them more susceptible to RF energy.
EXION Candidates
Healthy individuals seeking to address aesthetic concerns of their face or body can often benefit from EXION treatment. Pregnant or nursing patients may need to wait to undergo these treatments. How Exion™ Microneedling Differs From Traditional Microneedling
Many patients are familiar with microneedling, but Exion represents a next-generation evolution of this treatment. Traditional microneedling relies solely on mechanical stimulation at the surface level. Exion goes further by activating biological skin regeneration at multiple depths.
Key distinctions include:
- Energy-assisted stimulation (RF + ultrasound) rather than needles alone
- Deeper dermal activation for collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid
- More consistent tissue heating for uniform results
- Broader treatment capability beyond texture alone
For patients in Goodyear and Phoenix, AZ seeking noticeable improvement in skin quality without surgery, Exion offers a more comprehensive approach than conventional microneedling devices.
What Skin Concerns Do Patients Commonly Treat With Exion™?
While Exion is highly customizable, patients most often seek treatment for concerns such as:
- Early to moderate skin laxity
- Acne scarring and post-inflammatory texture changes
- Fine lines that do not respond well to topical treatments
- Crepey or thinning skin
- Uneven skin tone caused by sun exposure
- Skin quality changes related to aging or weight fluctuation
Because Exion works by stimulating internal skin regeneration, results continue to develop gradually over several weeks following treatment.
The Exion™ Microneedling Experience
Understanding what happens before, during, and after treatment helps patients feel confident and prepared.
Before Your Microneedling Treatment
- A personalized consultation determines the appropriate Exion modality
- Treatment areas are cleansed and prepped
- Topical numbing is applied when microneedling is involved
During Microneedling Treatment
- Sessions are performed in-office by our dual licensed medical aesthetician and laser technician, Mari Cimpan
- Sensations are typically described as warmth, pressure, or light prickling
- Treatment time varies by area but is generally under one hour
After Microneedling Treatment
- Mild redness or warmth may occur temporarily
- Most patients return to work or daily activities the same day
- Skin continues improving as collagen and hyaluronic acid production increase
When Will You See Results From Exion™ Microneedling?
Exion is designed for progressive, natural-looking improvement, not instant overcorrection.
Typical timelines include:
- Early skin texture changes within a few weeks
- Continued firmness and smoothing over 2–3 months
- Optimal results following completion of a recommended treatment series
Because Exion supports the skin’s own regenerative processes, results tend to appear gradually and age naturally.
How Exion™ Fits Into a Comprehensive Skin Care Plan
Exion Microneedling is often used as part of a broader aesthetic strategy rather than a standalone solution. Depending on your goals, it may complement treatments such as:
- Neuromodulators (e.g., Botox®)
- Dermal fillers
- Medical-grade skincare regimens
- Laser or light-based treatments
Your provider will help determine ideal timing and sequencing to ensure safe, effective results.
Safety, Customization, and Technology Precision
One of the advantages of Exion is the high level of control built into the system. Treatment parameters are customized based on:
- Skin thickness
- Treatment area
- Individual sensitivity
- Desired outcome
This precision allows providers to tailor treatments for different facial regions and skin types while maintaining safety and comfort.
Who May Need to Delay or Avoid Exion™ Treatments?
Although Exion is appropriate for many patients, treatment may be postponed or modified if you:
- Are pregnant or nursing
- Have active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area
- Have certain implanted medical devices (to be discussed during consultation)
A thorough evaluation ensures Exion is both safe and appropriate for your individual needs.
