Reshape Facial Contours With JUVÉDERM®
Juvéderm® is an excellent way to take years off your facial appearance without surgery. In general, this family of dermal fillers diminishes facial lines and wrinkles and restores fullness and volume in the face, including the lips and cheeks. Consult with the professionals at Dermacare Plastic Surgery and find out if a Juvéderm® filler is right for you.
At Arizona Dermacare Plastic Surgery we ONLY purchase Juvéderm® from the original supplier, the pharmaceutical company Allergan. Any Juvéderm® injections you receive at Dermacare are safe, and always FDA approved.
FDA Approved Products
The FDA Has Approved Five Types of Juvéderm®:
- Juvéderm Ultra®
- Juvéderm Ultra XC®
- Juvéderm Ultra Plus®
- Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC®
- Juvéderm Voluma XC®
At Dermacare Cosmetic Surgery, we offer them all. The Ultra is used for superficial locations for maximum silkiness, while the Ultra Plus has a thicker consistency for longer duration. To make injections more comfortable, the XC formulas contain the anesthetic lidocaine. What makes the Juvéderm®products stand out among other dermal fillers? The smooth consistency of their formulas, their predictability, and their longevity.

Are You a Candidate?
You may be considered a good candidate for Juvéderm® if you meet any of the following criteria:
- Having a positive outlook and realistic goals
- Crow’s feet at the corner of your eyes
- Deep smile lines that run from the side of the nose to corners of the mouth
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Marionette lines at the corners of the mouth
You may NOT be a good candidate for Juvéderm® if you:
- Have a history of multiple severe allergies or severe allergic reactions
- Are allergic to proteins or lidocaine
These injections can also be used to improve the skin’s contour and reduce depressions in the skin due to scars, injury or lines.
Making The Right Decision
You can see potentially dramatic improvements for:
- Cheek depressions, smile and/or frown lines, Crow’s feet, and more
- Lip border
- Scars including those caused by burns, acne, and wounds
- Smoker’s lines; vertical lines on the mouth
- Worry lines that run across your forehead
Most Phoenix patients need at least three visits before they are completely satisfied. Results usually last 3 to 5 months.
If you are considering getting Juvéderm® injections, you’ll need to be upfront about your current medical history to make sure the product is safe for you. Because of that, your consultation at Phoenix’s Dermacare Plastic Surgery will ask you:
- If you are on therapy used to decrease the body’s immune response system
- If you are using medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood thinners
- To minimize strenuous exercise and exposure to extensive sun or heat within the first 24 hours following your Juvéderm® treatment
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do Juvéderm® Injections Hurt?
We understand that you may want to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scars, but may have a fear of needles. So do the folks at Allergen. For this reason, they’ve created a line of Juvéderm® products that include lidocaine, a numbing agent. Juvéderm® products with lidocaine all end with the letters “XC.” If you’re concerned about pain during your injection or have a general fear of needles, make sure to tell your Phoenix consultant at Dermacare Plastic Surgery.
- What Makes Juvéderm® Better Than Other Dermal Fillers?
You have a lot of choices when it comes to selecting the right dermal filler for you. There are so many different options on the market these days! Juvéderm® is the #1 best-selling dermal filler in the United States. With so many cosmetic surgeons choosing Juvéderm® for their practice, you can trust that it’s an ideal solution for your aesthetic goals.
- Why Might I Need Multiple Injections?
The first reason why Phoenix patients need multiple injections of Juvéderm® is that the results of the dermal filler aren’t permanent. You’ll need maintenance injections every 3 to 5 months, depending on how long your individual results last. Some patients also need multiple injections to achieve their desired look. If this is your first time considering Juvéderm®, there’s no way for us to tell you how many or how often you’ll need injections, but once you start regular treatment your history should help predict how many and how often you’ll need injections in the future.
- What Is the Recovery Process Like from Juvéderm®?
There’s no downtime when it comes to getting dermal filler injections. You can literally show up during your lunch hour, get your injection, and head back to work! You will, however, not be able to wear makeup the day of your injection, and you may have some slight redness at your injection site that you want to ice. Depending on your personal preferences, you can schedule your appointment for the end of your workday, or take the entire day off to rest and relax.
- Will Anyone Be Able to Tell That I’ve Had Injections?
Some of our dermal filler patients at Dermacare Plastic Surgery don’t want anyone to know they’ve had some work done. Others are so excited by their results they want to shout the news from their rooftops, so everyone knows. Rest assured, besides not being able to wear makeup on the day of your treatment and having a little bit of redness immediately after your injection, there are no telltale signs of Juvéderm® treatment. While people will notice that you look great, they won’t know you’ve had a dermal filler injection unless you let them in on the secret.
- Is Juvéderm® Just for Women?
Absolutely not! While it’s true that most Phoenix patients who seek us out for dermal fillers are women, we work with several Arizona men, too. Don’t let celebrity gossip magazines fool you. Thousands of men seek out Juvéderm® treatment every year, and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t either.
