Benefits Of Facelift

The ultimate benefit of a facelift is the ability to look years younger. Because of Dr. Rod’s extensive experience, Phoenix area patients don’t have to worry about looking windblown or done up. They’ll receive natural-looking results that can help them look up to 10 years younger. In particular, a facelift can help treat the following areas of the mid to lower face and neck:

  • Deep wrinkles throughout the face
  • Deep jowls that take away from a defined jawline
  • Sunken cheeks that lead to a hollowed look
  • Banding of the neck

After their procedure, patients will feel more self-confident thanks to their improved appearance.

Facelift Candidates

Not every patient in the Phoenix area qualifies for a facelift. This is something that Dr. Rod can determine at the initial consultation. He’ll assess the patient’s concerns and medical history and then create a personalized treatment plan to help them achieve their goals. Even if a facelift isn’t the right procedure, there are plenty of other ways to help turn back the hands of time.

Generally, an ideal candidate for a facelift:

  • Is healthy enough for surgery.
  • Does not smoke, as this can increase recovery times and negatively affect results.
  • Has a realistic mindset when it comes to results.
  • Can return to our Phoenix office for regular follow-up evaluations.

Facelift Cost

Every facelift procedure is a little different, which is why it’s hard for us to quote a price without an initial consultation. At the initial consultation, Dr. Rod can further investigate the patient’s issues and make a customized recommendation for treatment. Factors like skin quality, desired results, and even genetics can all affect how much the procedure will cost. Many patients also choose to pair eyelid surgery or a brow lift with their facelift, which can further affect the cost.

Whatever the estimate ends up being, patients who have monetary concerns can take advantage of our financing options. We partner with CareCredit, eMedical Financing Solutions, and Alphaeon Credit to provide plenty of ways to afford treatment.

It all starts with an experienced plastic surgeon.

Recovery From a Facelift

Every patient’s recovery after a facelift is a little different. Dr. Rod will provide patients with personalized discharge instructions that will tell them how to care for their drains and look out for signs of complications. Patients will also have bandages over the incisions, and a compression garment to help with bruising and swelling.  We will also start you on a supplement several days prior to surgery to help the healing process.

Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are expected after a facelift, but these can usually be lessened with pain medication and cold compresses. Most patients take pain medication for one to five days after surgery.  Patients should try to sleep upright to reduce swelling.  Bruising can generally be covered up with makeup after seven to ten days.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How Much Younger Will I Look After a Lasting Facelift?

This is one of the most frequent questions that Phoenix men and women ask Dr. Rod during a consultation. And it’s understandable. After all, you want to know what your results will look like before you commit to undergo plastic surgery.

While we can’t tell you how much younger you’ll look until you’ve had your initial consultation, we can give you some upfront guidelines. In general, Dr. Rod’s goal is to make you look good for your age, and not “done up” or “wind blown.” He is committed to providing natural-looking results that make you feel like the best version of yourself. Generally speaking, you may be able to achieve a look that is 10 years younger than your current appearance, but achieving that look will all depend on your current, unique facial appearance, the techniques Dr. Rod is able to use for your procedure and your lifestyle choices such as always wearing sunscreen on your face and refraining from smoking – which makes your face age faster.

  • What Signs of Aging Can Be Addressed?

Every Phoenix resident ages differently, and therefore, every one of Dr. Rod’s patients has different needs. In general, a Lasting Facelift is designed to address the mid to lower face and neck. It can address problem areas such as deep wrinkles, sunken cheeks, and deep jowls. If you have deep wrinkles or lowering brows, you may want to combine your surgery with a brow lift to achieve your overall, desired results.

  • What Will the Recovery Process Entail?

The most important things you need during your recovery is rest, relaxation, proper nutrition and refraining from using tobacco products. You’ll also want to take any pain or antibiotic medication you may be prescribed exactly as instructed. Recovery periods vary in length from patient to patient. In general, you can expect to be off work for at least a week, if not more depending on your unique case. You’ll also have postoperative follow up appointments scheduled that you’ll need to keep so that Dr. Rod can ensure you are recovering properly. Your individualized post-op instructions will be tailored to your unique case and be given to you and your caregiver upon release from the surgical facility.
