A minor surgical procedure for large labia reduction and female genital cosmetic surgery.

No more physical discomfort or chaffing while wearing tight clothing, riding a bicycle or horse. No more embarrassment or anxiety about intimacy, and no more pain during sexual intercourse. Now Phoenix women have the option to surgically correct these problems with a minor surgical procedure for large labia reduction and female genital cosmetic surgery.

The shape, size, and color of labia vary significantly, and may change as a result of childbirth, aging and other factors. According to a 2011 review of the procedure in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, patients satisfaction for this procedure is in the 90-95 percent range. As with any surgical procedure, there are risks which include permanent scarring, infections, bleeding, irritation, and nerve damage leading to increased or decreased sensitivity.

It all starts with an experienced plastic surgeon.

What is Labiaplasty?

Feel comfortable during your everyday activities or when wearing tight-fitting clothing. or experience pain during intercourse? Then labiaplasty, also referred to as labiaplasty, might be the right procedure for you.

Labiaplasty is an aesthetic vaginal surgical procedure that will reduce and/or reshape the labia minora – the skin that covers the female clitoris and vaginal opening, to better define the inner labia. In many instances, women with large labia can experience pain during intercourse, or feel discomfort during everyday activities or when wearing tight-fitting clothing. Some Phoenix women may also feel unattractive, or wish to enhance their sexual experiences by removing some of the skin that covers the clitoris.

Labiaplasty Procedures

A labiaplasty can either be a reduction of the labia minor (inner lips) or a labia majora (outer lips). These procedures vary greatly in their surgical techniques and each depends on the individual case.

Here are the differences:

Labia Minora (inner lips) Reduction – Many Phoenix women dislike the large protuberant appearance of their labia minora. This may cause severe embarrassment with a sexual partner. The overly large labia minora can also result in constant irritation in tight pants. Surgical labial reduction can greatly improve the aesthetic appearance of the abnormally enlarged labis. Some women are born with large labia, others may develop this condition with childbirth or age.

Labia Majora (outer lips) Reduction – This common anatomical variation may be worsened by childbirth or by weight gain or loss. They may sometimes be improved by liposuction. In more severe cases, surgical reduction is necessary.

Are you a good candidate for Labiaplasty?

A good candidate for Labiaplasty Surgery:

  • Is either experiencing sexual dysfunction, embarrassment, or pain because their labia (labia minora) are over-sized or asymmetrical
  • Dislike their large labia or shape of their labia, which may cause inelegance or awkwardness with a sexual partner
  • Is emotionally stable
  • Understands the risks of surgery

If you do not meet all of these criteria, but meet some of them, you may still be a good candidate for a labiaplasty.

Please note that Labia reduction surgery is relatively contraindicated for the woman who has active gynecological disease, such as an infection or a malignancy; the woman who is a tobacco smoker and is unwilling to quit, either temporarily or permanently, in order to optimize her wound-healing capacity; and Phoenix  the woman who is unrealistic in her aesthetic goals.
